Välkomna till ett prestigelöst och avslappnat boksamtal med Lesbisk Makt! Över sommaren läser vi Sunburn av Chloe Michelle Howarth. Vi ses i Page 28:s lokaler i Malmö den 26/8 och fikar tillsammans, talar om det vi läst och vad det fått oss att tänka och känna, helt utan press och prestationskrav!

Kort om boken
Sunburn utspelar sig i 90-talets Irländska landsbygd och handlar om Lucy, som alltid känt sig lite annorlunda. Boken är en skarpsinnig och öm porträttering av en första kärlek, att finna sig själv och svårigheterna som kan komma genom detta.
Tillgänglighet och språk
Lokalen är tillgänglig med rullstol. RWC finns fram till klockan 20.00 i Foodcourten på MittMöllan.
Eftersom den här boken finns att läsa på både svenska och engelska så kan boksamtalet vid behov komma att ske på engelska. Vi blandar i så fall språken och gör vårt bästa för att hjälpa varandra så att alla kan delta.
Om bokcirkeln
Detta blir bokcirkelns femte möte och det första efter sommaruppehållet.
Vi strävar efter att skapa en så välkomnande och positiv miljö som möjligt för alla deltagare. Vi vill att man ska våga dyka upp även om man aldrig varit med i en bokklubb förut och oavsett hur erfaren man är som läsare. Alla deltar efter förmåga, lust och dagsform!

Lesbisk Makt är en nationell förening som bidrar till att skapa en stark lesbisk folkrörelse. Alla som är lesbiska eller intresserade av lesbiskhet och som identifierar sig som kvinnor, icke-binära och/eller har transerfarenhet får vara med. Läs mer om vår värdegrund här.

About the book
Sunburn takes place in rural Ireland in the 90s and follows Lucy, a teenager who has always felt a bit different. The book is a tender and insightful portrayal of first love and self-discovery, and the challenges that come with it.
Accessibility and language
The location is wheelchair-accessible and there is an RWC (which is open until 8 pm) by the Foodcourt at MittMöllan.
Due to the book being available in both English and Swedish, there is room for the discussion to be conducted in both of these languages based on who's attending. We mix languages when needed and do our best to help each other in a way that lets everybody participate.
About the book club
This will be our 5th book club meeting, and the first one following the summer break.
We strive to create a welcoming and positive environment for everyone attending. We want you to feel comfortable attending even if you've never been to a book club meeting before and regardless of your level of experience as a reader. Everyone participates to the extent that they are able and feel comfortable.
Who is Lesbisk Makt for?
Everyone who identifies with or is interested in Lesbianism and identifies as women, non-binary and/or have trans-experience is welcome to attend. Read about our values here.

- What parts of the book do you relate to the most? Who do you relate to the most? Who do you empathise with the most?
- Do you believe Lucy is fair to Susannah? Do you believe Lucy is fair to Martin?
- How does secrecy shape Lucy's and Susannah's relationship?
- In what way does Lucy's surroundings and environment shape her understanding of herself? How does community, religion and family impact the story?
- What role does the writing style play in the book?
- What did you think of the ending? Were you satisfied?
- Is this a love-story, a coming-of-age story or a tragedy? Or all three?
